NARRATIVE:

Fifth + Broadway is a megaproject that will occupy the heart of Music City. The circa 1987 convention center which previously occupied the site was an inward looking brutalist structure which was inhospitable to pedestrians and formed a barrier to further development of the Lower Broadway district. Located directly across the street from two Nashville landmarks – the historic Ryman Auditorium and Bridgestone Arena – this development draws from and feeds into the energy of the tourism and entertainment center of the city. Nashville’s explosive population growth, competitive business climate, and increased popularity as a vacation destination has paved the road for this project. A 25-story Class A office tower contributes to the urban core which continues to attract companies from both inside and outside of central Tennessee. A 34-story residential tower with stunning views will accommodate a growing population choosing to reside downtown. And a retail podium – which occupies the base of both towers and a standalone building – unites the project via a new pedestrian arcade and provides the variety of uses required to create a rich pedestrian environment.
